The children from Room 18 and Room 25 worked very hard last week picking the potatoes from our school garden. Deirdre O' Carroll was once again available to lend a very big hand at digging up the potatoes.
To celebrate National Tree Day on the 3rd of October, the girls and boys from Mr. McCormack's class helped plant an Irish Native Spindle in our garden which was given to us free from The Tree Council of Ireland. The children learn about the importance of planting more trees! Trees absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen and help reduce the risk of climate change. They also provide shelter and food for birds, animals and insects.
Many thanks to Deirdre O' Carroll who came along to lend a hand.
