  • In 2017 we were very lucky to have 3 DCU students work with us as part of their final year project.  They provided teachers with activity based resources for the classroom, PE time and for active homework.  They also facilitated games and activities during Active School Week.

  • This year we have been very lucky to welcome Peter Fijolek to our school.  Peter is a Sports Science student in DCU and is completing his work placement with us from March-June 2021.  He takes every class for 1 PE lesson per week and works on the Fundamental Movement Skills through lots of fun games.

We work closely all year round with our GAA Games Promotion Officer Teresa Molohan.  Lots of the children attend GAA training with Dunboyne and we are always very proud of their achievments.  Vikki Wall (Dunboyne and Meath Ladies Gaeilic Football star) kindly set one of our Active Week Homework challenges for us this year!

Every year for Active Week we invite Ken from Golden Tiger Academy in Dunboyne to our school and he gives taster sessions to all the children.  Lots of our children attand martial arts classes with Ken putside of school.  Unfortunatley due to Covid we have not able to invite him to join us this year but we are very much looking forward to working with him again next year.
Ken very kindly set one of our Active Homework Challenges for us this year.

Every year for our Active Week we work with the Athletics club.  They organise and host the 1st and 2nd class Sports Day at the Athletics track.  Unfortunately due to Covid we can't go this year but we are very much looking forward to trying out their new track next year.  Lots of the children are members of the Athletic Club and we are always very proud of all of their achievements.
