SCIENCE WEEK  NOVEMBER 12TH, 2017.

As part of Science Week the big attraction this year was the chicks!  The children came to visit the incubator every day to monitor the progress.   The chicks arrived safely and our school corridors echoed the chirping of the little chicks.  The children really enjoyed the experience.
The children in all classes had 'science homework' to carry out rather than their regular homework on the Wednesday of science week. It was great hear all about and see the different science experiments that took place in the children's homes. Children wrote about their work and the class teachers displayed this work along the corridors.  Many children brought in photos or drew pictures to illustrate their work.

scientists come to visit DJPS!

During science week we were lucky to have two scientists visit our school.

Megan is an animal bioscience researcher who spoke to the children all about genetics.

Kevin works with Astronomy Ireland and he taught us about different aspects of the night sky.
