Active & Wellbeing School

At Dunboyne JPS, we believe that children learn best when they feel happy, active and supported. Physical activity and wellbeing are central to daily school life, helping children to build confidence, develop friendships and enjoy learning.

We provide a positive and inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to take part, try their best and feel a sense of belonging.

Active School

Physical activity is an important part of each school day. We aim to help children develop healthy habits, improve coordination and experience the enjoyment of movement.

Physical Education
All classes take part in regular PE lessons, where children develop fundamental movement skills, coordination and teamwork in a structured and enjoyable way.

Active Classrooms
Movement breaks and active learning strategies are used throughout the day to support concentration, engagement and overall wellbeing.

Active Initiatives
Children are encouraged to take part in a variety of activities and challenges that promote participation, enjoyment and inclusion.

Active School Flag
We are proud to have been awarded the Active School Flag, recognising our commitment to promoting physical activity across the school community.

Wellbeing

Supporting children’s wellbeing is a key priority in our school. We aim to create a caring, respectful and inclusive environment where children feel safe, valued and supported.

Positive Relationships
We promote kindness, respect and inclusion, helping children to build strong friendships and positive relationships with others.

Confidence and Resilience
Children are encouraged to develop confidence, independence and the ability to cope with challenges in a supportive setting.

A Calm and Supportive Environment
Clear routines and consistent expectations help children to feel secure and ready to learn each day.

Working Together

We recognise the important role families play in supporting children’s wellbeing and active lifestyles.

We encourage parents and guardians to support active habits at home through play, outdoor activities and regular movement. Working together helps children to develop positive habits that support both their health and their learning.

By working together, we are helping to keep our school and community clean, safe and environmentally friendly.

Our Active Motto
