At Dunboyne Junior Primary School, our policies underpin the day-to-day life and work of the school. They provide a clear, consistent framework to support high-quality teaching and learning, effective leadership and management, and a safe, inclusive and child-centred environment for all pupils. In line with the Looking at Our School 2022 (LAOS 2022) framework, our policies support: Learner outcomes and experiences through clear, consistent approaches to teaching, learning and assessment Effective practice and professional collaboration among staff Inclusive, responsive provision for all pupils, including those with additional needs Strong leadership and governance, with clearly defined roles and responsibilities Child safeguarding is central to all policy development and implementation. In accordance with the Child Protection Procedures for Schools 2025, the school is fully committed to maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection. Our Child Safeguarding Statement and associated risk assessment guide all aspects of practice, ensuring that the welfare of every child is paramount in all decisions and actions. Our policies: establish clear expectations and shared understandings across the school community support consistency in practice and decision-making provide guidance in responding to a wide range of situations promote positive relationships, wellbeing and effective behaviour ensure compliance with Department of Education circulars and statutory requirements Policies are developed collaboratively by school leadership and staff, in consultation with parents where appropriate, and are formally ratified by the Board of Management. They are considered living documents, subject to regular review, reflective practice, and ongoing improvement. Through this structured and reflective approach, our policies contribute to a well-organised, inclusive and high-quality learning environment where all children can learn, grow and thrive
